Jared Nemitz had a great opportunity to discuss his management practices in Myrtle Beach last week. This past winter was very hard on ultradwarf putting greens across the Southeast. Many golf courses had some type of winter damage on their greens with some even seeing major loss of turf. With widespread damage to putting greens showing up, the USGA, in partnership with the Founders Group, decided to host a seminar on ultradwarf winter survival and grow-in tips.
Jared discussed his winter management philosophies regarding winter management strategies including covering practices, moisture management and other cultural practices. With over 100 golf course superintendents and course officials attending it was a great opportunity to share ideas and explain some of the practices that help make The Peninsula Club successful!
